The R/V Heraclitus, a 25 m, threemasted chinese rigged sailing ship is currently docked in the port of Colombo. On Friday, May 11 at 1900, Christine Handte, Expedition Chief, will give a slide presentation (45 min)of the 30 year history of the vessel, which has sailed up the Amazon, several times around the world, to Antarctica and around South America and is now enroute on a new expedition, 'Coral Sea to Black Sea Adventure...via the South Atlantic'. R/V Heraclitus has been to Galle in 1997 and before in Colombo in 1985. The crew and Captain will be present during the evening as well.
