Hello Neranjan,
First, my congratulations! So happy that at least one half of you one the match. Second; God willing, I wish you a sense of humour.
Have fun, be happy,
Dominic
I guess it's time to draw a line under this. I was at both St. Joseph's College and also at Royal College and have been to both the Joe-Pete and the Royal-Thomian. I found both institutions to be unique in their own ways. St. Joseph's had a great history and the student discipline was exceptionally good. Royal was a much bigger institution with an amazing history and spirit and also enjoys the bradby shield and the coveted Roy-Tho. What we should appreciate is that it is great to have these great institutions in Sri Lanka (Royal, St Thomas, St. Joseph's, St. Peter's, Wesley, Trinity, St. Anthony's, Kingswood...,) and the prevalent spirit and respect that have been maintained to date which I don't think is evident in schools in countries like India. The recognition that the prestigious Eton-Harrow school cricket match is far less when compared to the Royal-Thomian for instance (I have been living in the UK for almost a decade now). It is imperative that the college spirit is maintained in Sri Lanka and to not to allow the standards to drop faced with the emergence of the new breed of good and not so good international schools.
