Sri lanka. Mechanical Rice Harvester. near Buttala.
Dominic - help! I am trying to contact you re research I am doing on the period that Australian artist Donald Friend spent in Sri Lanka with Bevis and Geoffrey Bawa and Barbara Sansoni. I am looking at making a documntary on his time there.

Those combined harvesters are called 'Tsunami' machine by the locals. - Nothing is left once that 'thing' is rolled over a field.
Yes, a wonderful name, and they call the machine that just harvests (but does not thresh) a BUTHAYA!
